The Countdown Begins.........

So this is it..............

Last day of exams, last day to hand in assignments...

The beginning of my taste of freedom and I am.....

Sick, tired, crampy, bloated, stuffy and need I say more??

But thats okay, I'll take all that for the chance to look at all the paper that is scattered around my room, the clean laundry that is hapharzardly flung about and the gazillion textbooks that I just don't have the patience to sort through and say GOOOD RIDDANCE! This semester seems to have flown by and yet at the same time, I can't imagine time moving any slower. For example, it is officially 1 hour and half before my last final exam and I'm sitting in the computer lab watching the clock slowly tick away and I swear it has been stuck on the same position for what seems like an eternity. At this point, I am indifferent on the results of the exam as long as I can walk out of the room knowing that I don't have to study, or read, or write another paper for at least another 2 weeks!

I keep getting asked, "So how's the wedding planning going?" and my answer has always been a shrug and a sigh..."nothing much yet."  I know, I know, only 6 months left and yet there seems to be SO MANY more things that come before that that I haven't even had the time to get excited about anything. But after WC, then perhaps we can finally sit down and plan this day out...hehe...

Completed tasks:
-wedding favors (half)
-bridesmaid dresses
-wedding dress
-banquet booked
-found the wedding band that I want...teehee

Things still need to get done:
-wedding invitations
-guest list
-wedding dress fitting
-book trip to Taiwan
-find Chinese dress
-meeting with photographer, GM, head coordinators
-yup yup..........and so much more..:)

Of Men and dogs.....

Seems kind of unfair to refer to men as dogs or even assume there is some sort of relationship between the two.....

7 months and counting before I tye and knots and say my "I dos"...

Whenever I think about spending the rest of my life with him and enjoying all the highs ands working together during the lows, a little twinge of excitements flutters in my stomach. And then I watch a news report like that on Dateline and all the hopes and dreams I have seem to be dashed away by the harsh reality of our world.
The report was about a sting operations that were being conducted somewhere in the States where people, posing as 13 year old girls were in chatrooms luring predators to come to this house that was being staked by the police. You would think that these perverted men who some have claimed to have seen these newsreport in other cities would no better, but no, one by one, military men, doctors, engineers and countless other "supposedly" professional men would come to this house hoping to elicit what one can only consider actions that even a "dog" would frown upon. One man especially made my blood boil. He was part of the US military and just recently married and yet he was arrested when he came to the house looking for young, innocent girls to prey upon.....

I shake my head because I just don't understand how a man can be married and turn around and betray the vows and committments he has made before family and friends. Perhaps I am naive and perhaps I am being judgemental but I am just appalled at the state of our world. When marriage is word that is thrown around without any regards to what it represents and when children are used as pawns in a dirty game played by the people in their lives who are supposed to protect them, what else do we have hope in?

As I prepare to get married and as I look out into the world, my only hope is that no matter how dark this world may become, I pray that our committment will be one that will shine bright. By the grace of God, may our lives and may our love be something that is other worldly.

As you open my eyes to the work of your Hands....

God is amazing....
I am left humbled and speechless...

This story is about a couple who have been married for more than 7 years and have been trying for that long to have a child. If you can imagine a couple who would be the best parents in the world left in God's silence wondering when it will be their turn for God's blessings, then you can imagine the heartache and frustrations that come in that silence. The world around you asks the same questions......"What did we do to deserve this..." and God seems completely unwilling to acknowledge their prayers and cries.....
To look back and see how much they have accomplished in the last 7 years and the people they have touched, you realize that God is doing amazing things in their lives and perhaps that may be a reason for withholding that blessing. But yet at the bottom of your heart, you have that hint of..."thats not really fair God...." because the most painful thing for a women is to be a mother without a child and I believe she has been that for as long as she can remember....
With each pregnancy that occurs around her...the questions become louder and You, God seem ever more silent........

And then..........as if out of nowhere...
They are expecting their first child...............(God if there was only a way to express this joy in my heart)
He not only answered the deepest cry of their hearts but also validated every prayer that every Christian has prayed on their behalf......
And I am humbled again........

Congratulations to Gabriel and Angela...... :)

If my heart has grown cold,
There Your love will unfold;
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand.
When I’m blind to my way,
There Your Spirit will pray;
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand,
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand.

Oceans will part; nations come
At the whisper of Your call.
Hope will rise; glory shown.
In my life, Your will be done.

Present suffering may pass,
Lord, Your mercy will last;
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand.
And my heart will find praise,
I’ll delight in Your way,
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand,
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand.
(HILLSONGS, OCEANS WILL PART)
